The Tastiest Spiced Roast Chicken Recipe
- 1 lb. whole chicken
- 2 Tbsp. paprika
- 2 Tbsp. dried thyme
- 2 Tbsp. garlic powder
- 2 Tbsp. cayenne pepper
- 2 Tbsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. black ground pepper
- 2 pieces Sriracha classic seasoning stix
- 1 wedge lemon wedge
- 2 medium-sized onions (sliced crosswise)
- 4 sprigs rosemary
Step 1: Prepare the Chicken
Thoroughly wash and pat chicken dry using a paper towel. Open the chicken to lay flat and breast-side-up on your working pan. Leave for 30 minutes at room temperature.
Step 2: Mix the Spices
Grab a small mixing bowl and combine all the spices — paprika, dried thyme, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, salt, and black ground pepper.
Step 3: Rub the Chicken with the Spice Mixture
Sprinkle chicken with the spice mix. Rub thoroughly on top of the skin, out to the legs, thighs, and wings. Massage mixture gently into the meat until the whole chicken is completely coated.
Step 4: Insert Sriracha Classic Seasoning Stix
Insert Sriracha classic seasoning stix into each side of the chicken breast. This stix will give your bird that unmistakable heat!
Step 5: Stuff and Truss
Fill the chicken with sliced lemon, onions, and rosemary sprigs. Then, simply cross the legs and tie them together with cooking twine. Lift the wings, tips up, and tuck them under the chicken.
Step 6: Get Ready for Roasting
Place chicken in a roasting pan or dish. If you want to add veggies for roasting, arrange them on each side of the roasting pan and put the chicken in the middle, breast side up.
Step 7: Roasting Time
Put the chicken in a preheated oven set at 400° and bake for about one and a half hours.
Step 8: Carve and Serve
When the chicken is fully cooked, take it out from the oven and allow it to sit for at least 10-15 minutes before you carve. That way, the juices will redistribute throughout the bird. Then, carve and serve!
